[Hot Deal] The Reason – Save 73%

The ReasonThe Reason by William Sirls

When facing the impossible, will you believe?

Storm clouds gather over a small Michigan town. As thunder shakes the sky, the lights inside St. Thomas Church flicker… and then go out. All is black until a thick bolt of lightning slices the sky, striking the church’s large wooden cross – leaving it ablaze and splintered in two. When the storm ends – the search for answers begins.

James Lindy, the church’s blind minister, wonders how his small congregation can repair the cross and keep their faith in the midst of adversity. And he hears the words “only believe.”

Macey Lewis, the town’s brilliant young oncologist, is drawn to Alex, a young boy who’s recently been diagnosed with an aggressive leukemia. She puts her hope in modern medicine – yet is challenged to “only believe.”

And Alex’s single mom, who has given everything she can to her boy, is pleading with God to know the reason this is happening… to save her son. But she only hears silence and wonders how she can possibly “only believe.”

The Reason is a milestone debut novel, opening with a thunderbolt and never letting up as it introduces us to everyday characters who are wrestling with the questions: Where is God when bad things happen? And does God ignore the prayers of the faithful? The answer each character receives will astound readers while offering an unforgettable call to hope, to change, to… only believe.

If you haven't read the Gods and Kings series, get this one! The series is one of my favorites!

Angela L Westbrook January 4, 2013 at 6:23 pm

thanks for the tip! I was just looking for another good book series to read. If you haven't read the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers, I would highly recommend that series too (those books are my all-time favorite).

Wendy Leibel January 4, 2013 at 6:28 pm

I LOVE Mark of the Lion! I agree, it's one of my favorites too. This series takes you back to Old Testament and places you in the action. I hope you enjoy, we'll have to compare reading lists sometime!

my kindle is one of the best investments I have have ever made. imagine, having almost 700 books literally at my fingertipsat all times. Today I played Scrabble while waiting for a l-o-n-g, s-l-o-w train. Next week, I'll take it to the Dr. appontment (which by the way, I've talked my Dr. into buying a Kindle Fire…he's intrigued by mine!) I take it to church, so I can have easy reference to my bible during the sermon. To my son's violin lesson, on trips, to son's basketball practice (2 TEAMS). All this and FREE BOOKS, TOO! Thank You!
