Patrick Collins is seven years old, and on his Christmas list are only three items. He wants the army to find his father. He wants to leave his grandfather’s house. And, for reasons even he doesn’t understand, he wants the soldier that’s tucked away in his grandfather’s attic.

Set at Christmastime in 1943, The Unfinished Gift tells in an engaging, simple style the story of a family, and reminds us of the surprising things that affect powerful change in our hearts – like a young boy’s prayers, a shoebox full of love letters, and even an old wooden soldier, long forgotten. This nostalgic story of forgiveness will engage readers everywhere.

A Dream Unfolding is a great read. Full of history, fact and fictional. I have read all those listed above, and am now on the 4th in the Prescott Pioneer Series, A Hope Revealed. The only complaint I have on these books is the way they are written…too many commas where commas don't belong. Other than that, the story lines are great. I especially like the fact that all the characters intermingle throughout each book. So many times in a series you get attached to the main characters, only to have them fade out in the next book. If you like history and the wild west/pioneer/frontier type books, then you should definately read these. I'm almost done with the 4th in the series and will be sad to say goodbye to my pioneer friends. But I'll be saying hello to new friend in the next book. Thank you Inspired Reads!

I picked up "The Unfinished Gift" just now, and the Prescott Pioneers series by Karen Baney is wonderful. There is a 4th book in the series now, I think. You won't regret getting "A Dream Unfolding" Happy reading!
